Marsh has promoted Asia-Pacific placement head John Donnelly to global head of placement.

Effective in the New Year, the appointment will see Donnelly relocate from Australia to the UK. His remit will span Marsh’s retail and wholesale broking activities globally.

“The London insurance market plays a pivotal role in Marsh’s global placement strategy and securing the best outcomes for our clients,” Donnelly commented.

“Through greater collaboration and strengthening our focus on placement, we will increase our ability to support clients as they respond to new and emerging risks.”

The industry stalwart began his career at Marsh in 1983, staying for one and a half decades before he moved to JLT where he spent about nine years. In 2013, Donnelly returned to Marsh from Aon.
