WTW has announced the appointment of Diego Ventosa Dünwald as the new energy and infrastructure growth leader for the natural resources division in North America.
Dünwald brings over two decades of industry experience to his new role at WTW. His career spans both the United States and international markets, where he has worked extensively with companies in the renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, and private equity sectors. His expertise in risk management, client servicing, and handling complex risk placements adds significant value to his role.
Before joining WTW, Dünwald was the CEO of the Energy Miami P&L at Lockton since 2020, where he drove considerable growth in the energy and private equity space. His tenure at Lockton was preceded by over 20 years at Marsh, including serving as the global sales leader for energy and power.
He will be reporting to Bill Helander, head of natural resources at WTW North America, and will primarily focus on supporting clients globally, with an emphasis on Latin America.
“I am delighted that Diego is joining our NA Natural Resources team. His wealth of experience working through the world will be hugely beneficial as we drive our global specialty growth agenda forward. I am looking forward to working with him to continue delivering and developing the very best solutions for our natural resource clients,” Helander said.
“Our specialist approach to understanding risk for our natural resources clients underpins our appointment of Diego to look at both energy and infrastructure,” said Graham Knight, WTW global head of natural resources. “We are committed to supporting our clients in the Natural Resources sector. Delivering innovative solutions and industry understanding is a key component of our specialist service offering to clients. Diego will be a valuable addition to our Natural Resources team.”
Elsewhere for the global brokerage, the latest Insurance Marketplace Realities report by WTW indicates that inflation is impacting commercial insurance rates.
