Amex Is Making Pay Over Time Permanently Active
American Express is making a big change to its Pay Over Time feature. Starting February 1, 2027, Pay Over Time will be permanently set to Active, and cardholders will no longer have the option to turn it off. That means eligible purchases will automatically be added to your Pay Over Time balance, up to your assigned limit.
Many cardholders prefer turning this option off, hoping to receive a bonus. It looks like this will no longer be possible next year.
