Marriott Randomly Gives Out 55 Elite Night Credits for Multiple Cards

Marriott Bonvoy gives cardholders annual Elite Night Credits. Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bold, Chase Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful, Amex Marriott Bonvoy Bevy, and Amex Marriott Bonvoy Business all earn 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year. The Amex Marriott Brilliant gives cardholders 25 Elite Night Credits after last year’s changes.

You can stack Elite Night Credits from personal and business cards, but having multiple personal Marriott cards, or multiple Marriott business credit cards shouldn’t get you any extra Elite Night Credits. That means that you should now get a total of 40 Elite Night Credits in total as long as you have the Brilliant card, and another Marriott business card.

But some people are actually getting 55 Elite Night Credits in their account this year, and we’re not sure why. Marriott has confirmed that this is not an error. This is the email sent out to those who have received 55 Elite Night Credits this year:

Because you have both the a Marriott Bonvoy Business Credit Card and an eligible Marriott Bonvoy personal Credit Card, you are now receiving an additional 15 Elite Night Credits, on top of the 40 Elite Night Credits you already received this year.

You can continue to receive a total of 55 Elite Night Credits each year you maintain two eligible cards.

The wording in the email implies that you can get 55 Elite Night Credits by having two eligible cards. But that doesn’t add up. Even if you have two Brilliant cards, it only adds up to 50. And that shouldn’t work anyway.

If it does work with only two cards, that would have to be the Marriott Brilliant card and another business Marriott card. Just having that two-card combination has worked for some people, but not for others. But that seems to be the minimum requirement to get 55 Elite Night Credits. Besides that I have no idea how Marriott is deciding who get 55 Elite Night Credits.

Guru’s Wrap-up

I’m not sure what the winning combination is for 55 Elite Night Credits. For now it looks somewhat random as long as you have at least the Brilliant card and another business card. Status doesn’t seem to matter. But if you got it, then it should continue for years to come based on that email.

Let me know in the comments how many Elite Night Credits you have received this year, if you have multiple Marriott credit cards.
