by administrator

Later life lending platform Air says its chief executive Stuart Wilson has become the chairman of the firm’s advisor membership scheme Air Club, which will allow him “to focus on longer-term strategic projects”.

The platform says its existing management team, which includes sales director Jon Tweed and Operations Director Mike Taylor, will manage the day-to-day running of the business, adding that the search for a new chief executive is underway with an appointment is expected in the first half of next year.

Wilson has led the platform for almost 15 years, but “will remain closely involved in the business with a focus on strategy and public relations”.

Air Club has more than 8,000 members and is part of the Air platform business, founded in 2007, which has more than 20,000 members.

Air Club chairman Wilson says: “Now felt like the right time to step into the role of chairman of Air Club.

“We are preparing for the next phase of growth as the leading later life lending platform, and the new role will allow me to use my 36 years of market and distribution experience to support a new chief executive.”

Air is owned by later life business Key Group, which also owns More2life.

Key Group chief executive Simon Thompson adds: “Stepping into the role of chairman of Air Club will allow him [Stuart Wilson] to build on his experience to further grow and strengthen the later life lending industry.”
