Amex Removes Hawaiian as a Transfer Partner

As of June 30, American Express Membership Rewards points transfers to Hawaiian Airlines were slated to end, killing the best workaround to quickly rack up Alaska miles in recent memory. As of this morning, Amex has removed Hawaiian Airlines as a transfer partner.

You could still earn Alaska and Hawaiian miles by applying for an Alaska Airlines Visa® credit card or Hawaiian Airlines® World Elite Mastercard. There could be some speculation to Alaska Airlines devaluing its award chart as its merger with Hawaiian continues to evolve. For now, the only certainty is that there’s now an oversaturation of Alaska miles in many travelers accounts.
