Berkeley Alexander kickstarts 2023 apprentice programme

by administrator

Berkeley Alexander has launched its 2023 apprentice programme as the general insurance firm bids to train a new generation of professionals.

The Lewes-based company, which employs 7,000 staff across 100 offices in the UK, says apprentices will join all of its existing teams, providing them with on-the-job training and support as they study for relevant qualifications.

It adds its structured programme allows apprentices to study at their own pace, with the chance to fast-track their progress where appropriate.

Liudvikas Pavlov, who has a computer science degree from Brighton University, has joined the insurer as an apprentice under the scheme in its first intake.

He will spend two years with the finance team, before completing the programme with two years in a broking role where he will take his Chartered Insurance Institute exams and other qualifications.

Berkeley Alexander chairman Geoff Hall says: “Our goal is to help secure a better future for young people while at the same time improving the talent pipeline of our business.

“The insurance sector has so much to offer graduates and school leavers, and bringing in grassroots talent is vital to investing in the future success of our industry.”

The business plans to take on several further apprentices throughout the year.
