Canopius Group has announced the appointment of Kate Roy as chief operating officer. Roy (pictured) will assume the role in early 2022 and will report to Neil Robertson, deputy chief executive officer.
Roy has more than 33 years of industry experience. She joins Canopius from Willis Towers Watson, where she served as COO for Great Britain and Willis Ltd. she has also held senior positions at AIG and Capita Insurance Services.
“Kate is hugely experienced across the gamut of global reinsurance, with a firm understanding of our business and the markets we operate in,” Robertson said. “Kate will help shape our future operating model and her energy and enthusiasm will be an asset to our positive distinct culture and will undoubtedly help us realize Canopius’s future ambition.”

Canopius is a global specialty reinsurer with underwriting operations in the US, Australia, Bermuda, China, Singapore and the UK.
