Marsh has announced the appointment of Susan Gonzales (pictured above) as the leader of its Houston Energy Hub and Office.

Gonzales, who will be reporting to Rupert Mackenzie, head of energy & power, Marsh Specialty – Americas, will spearhead a team of over 70 specialists in Houston.

As per her LinkedIn, Gonzales transitions to Marsh from AIG, where she recently served as the US head of energy casualty, overseeing strategic implementation, guideline formulation, and the nurturing of production and talent.

Her tenure at AIG began in 2011, following an eight-year stint as an account executive with Lockton.

Mackenzie, commenting on Gonzales’s appointment, praised her client-focused leadership and her proven track record in talent development.

“Under her leadership, we are well-positioned to grow our presence in Houston and help clients build the confidence they need to thrive in today’s challenging risk environment,” Mackenzie said.

Elsewhere for the global broker, Marsh recently announced that Rob Powell has resumed his role as global chief claims officer.
