PayPal Key to Be Discontinued in April
Bad news for PayPal customers who have been using the popular PayPal Key feature. You can no longer sign up now for this feature, and soon all PayPal will remove the PayPal Key feature for all existing customers.
As of March 1, 2022, PayPal discontinued offering the PayPal Key feature for new customers in the U.S. On April 21, 2022, PayPal will remove the PayPal Key feature for all existing customers and any new transactions using their virtual card number will be declined. You can see the notice here.
If you’re not familiar with PayPal Key, it is a virtual debit card that lets you use your PayPal account anywhere cards are accepted online. You can use PayPal Key like a card at any online merchant that accepts Mastercard, even those that don’t have a PayPal button. And you can fund your purchase with a credit card that you have in your PayPal account. This was a useful feature for purchase where debit cards would have lower fees than credit cards.
