Primis and TMA Club launch CeMAP courses

by administrator

Primis Mortgage Network and TMA Club have launched a series of professional courses for would-be mortgage advisers.

The broker network and the mortgage club will run a range of certificate in mortgage advice and practice (CeMAP) online courses, starting this month.

The firms say: “The virtual courses will mark the first step for individuals who are looking to join an existing firm or for those who plan to build their own firm in the future.”

They add the sessions will allow administrators to gain new skills, recent graduates to begin their career in mortgage advice, and provide the opportunity for professionals in other careers to move into the sector.

A range of modules will focus on the expertise needed to advise customers on mortgage products, the regulations that govern the UK mortgage sector and the factors that impact customers’ personal financial plans.

The companies will provide CeMAP 1, 2 and 3 courses and exams for 15 candidates per group.

CeMAP 1 is a four-day course, while CeMAP 2 and 3 combined take a further eight to 10 weeks to complete.

Each module ends with a two-hour exam made up of multiple-choice questions which can be taken at home or at test centres.

Primis regional sales director Dave Woodbridge says: “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for Primis and TMA to work closely with the London Institute of Banking & Finance to provide additional support in achieving the CeMAP qualification.

London Institute of Banking & Finance head of financial services John Somerville adds: “We are proud to work with them [Primis] as one of our partners for CeMAP training”.
