Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage has been named one of Rhode Island’s “2023 Best Places to Work” by Providence Business News. This is the 11th consecutive year that the brokerage has made the list.

The Providence Business News “Best Places to Work in Rhode Island” list honors top employers in the state. Sixty-seven companies made the list this year.

“It is a privilege to be recognized by PBN, Providence Business News, as a ‘Best Place to Work in Rhode Island,’” said Larry Keefe, chairman and CEO of Starkweather & Shepley. “This is our 11th year of recognition, and it is a testament to our associates, their commitment, and our constancy of purpose. We simply are in it together.”

Starkweather & Shepley, founded in 1879, is the largest independent agency in Rhode Island.

It provides commercial and personal insurance, health and employee benefits, surety bonding and risk management services. In addition to its Rhode Island location, the brokerage has a presence in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida.

The “Best Places to Work” list isn’t the only honor Providence Business News has given the company. Last year, Starweather & Shepley vice president Theresa D’Orsi was named an honoree of the publication’s Business Women Awards program.
