Turks and Caicos to Require Visitors to Be Vaccinated as of Sept. 1
Turks and Caicos is implementing a new vaccine requirement for international travelers entering the country. As of 1st September 2021, all visitors over the age of 16 will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated to be granted entry to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Fully vaccinated means persons who have received the full dose of the vaccine with the final dose administered at least 14 days prior to arrival. (In the case of Johnson & Johnson vaccine one dose if considered the full dose). For example, if the final dose of the vaccine was taken 10-13 days prior to arrival to the destination you will not be considered fully vaccinated and will not be granted entry into the Turks and Caicos Islands. Accepted vaccines include Pfizer-BioNTech, Astrazeneca, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson.
Proof of vaccination accepted are in the form of e-cards from CVS, Walgreens, NHS etc. or vaccination letters signed by doctors that include doctors registration or license number.
There some exemptions. Visitors under the age 16 don’t have to provide proof of being vaccinated. However, visitors in the 10-15 age group won’t be exempt from providing a negative Covid-19 test. Visitors who are not able to take the Covid-19 vaccine due to medical reasons will be exempt from providing proof of being vaccinated. However, written and signed proof from a medical professional clearly stating that they are medically exempted from taking the vaccine must be submitted to the portal. The reason must be clearly stated and will be reviewed by the Turks and Caicos Ministry of Health. Note that these persons will not be exempt from providing a negative COVID-19 test. The new vaccination requirement is in addition to the requirement to show proof of a negative test taken within three days of a trip and the requirement to obtain insurance that would cover medical expenses related to COVID-19 while on the islands.
Turks and Caicos has a total of 2,568 cases throughout the pandemic with 19 casualties. There were several weeks with no new cases reported in the islands, but 115 cases have been reported in the last 28 days.
