Zurich Insurance Group’s board chair and members, whose term of office ended on April 6, have all been re-elected for another term.

Staying on are chairman Michel M. Liès and fellow board members Joan Amble, Catherine Bessant, Dame Alison Carnwath, Christoph Franz, Michael Halbherr, Sabine Keller-Busse, Monica Mächler, Kishore Mahbubani, Peter Maurer, Jasmin Staiblin, and Barry Stowe.

Prior to the re-election at this year’s annual general meeting, the insurer told shareholders in its AGM invitation: “The board has carefully considered the composition of the current board and concluded that the board has the appropriate balance of skills, experience, diversity, independence, and knowledge of Zurich Insurance Group’s business to continue to discharge its duties and responsibilities effectively.”

As highlighted by Zurich in a release, there is equal gender representation within the 12-strong roster.

Addressing shareholders, Liès stated: “2022 was a great success for Zurich. Our business performance confirms our strategy, which we have been implementing successfully for six years under the leadership of CEO Mario Greco.

“In recent years, we have focussed on deploying our capital as efficiently as possible and reducing volatility – while our customers were always at the heart of everything we did. That is why we look to the future with confidence.”

Meanwhile, the dividend of CHF 24 gross per share was also approved at Zurich’s AGM.
