Ames & Gough taps new risk management and claims specialist

Ames & Gough, an insurance broker and risk management consultant specializing in serving design professionals, law firms, associations and non-profits, and other professional service organizations, has announced the appointment of Lauren Rhodes Martin as risk management and claims specialist. Martin (pictured) will focus on the firm’s architect and engineer accounts.

Martin will be based in the Ames & Gough Washington, D.C., office. In her new role, she will work directly with the firm’s partners and client executives on all aspects of design firm clients’ risk management, including contract reviews, claims advocacy, loss prevention training and advice. Ames & Gough has more than 1,700 design firm clients across the US.

“As many parts of the country emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic, design firms face the challenge of balancing exciting growth opportunities with a dynamic operating environment marked by accelerating and complex risks,” said Matt Gough, president of Ames & Gough. “With her vast industry experience and career-long focus on architects and engineers, Lauren brings a valuable and timely resource to our team and clients. Martin joins Ames & Gough after nearly 35 years at CNA, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in claims and client management. In 2018, she was appointed as A/E platinum accounts director. For more than three decades, she was directly responsible for handling architect and engineer errors and omissions claims.
