Staples has a new promotion on Visa gift cards starting today. You can buy $200 Visa gift cards with no activation fee at all. That fee is normally $6.95. So this is a good opportunity for free credit card rewards, especially when combined with one of the Chase Ink cards [5X Ultimate Rewards] or Amex SimplyCash Plus [5% Cashback].

How to Maximize Profits
This is probably the best Visa Gift Card deal we have seen. With the new limit of 5, you can purchase $1,000 in Visa gift cards per day. You can do that at multiple stores daily, so you could easily rack up rewards if you are blessed with multiple locations nearby. Plus there’s no rebates and waiting for a gift card in the mail. Some stores might even let you make multiple purchases of 5 cards.
For every $200 Visa gift card you buy, you can earn 1,000 Chase UR points if you’re using your Chase Ink Plus/Cash card. With the Amex SimplyCash Plus card you get $10. So that’s 5,000 UR or $50 if you buy the limit of 5 cards.
How To Liquidate Gift Cards
Visa gift cards can be liquidated by buying money orders at Walmart or at various grocery stores and other locations. But beware of recent issues at Walmart and Kroger. The PIN is already set as the last 4 digits of the card number. The can also be used for bill pay at Walmart and Kmart. If everything else fails, you can always use them everywhere Visa is accepted and you’re still earning 5X on every purchase.
Staples Visa Gift Card Promo: Guru’s Wrap-Up
This one is probably the best promotion we see at Staples, as it involves Visa gift cards. I would suggest going to your nearest location early on Sunday because stock runs out quickly. That’s especially true now that they have run continuous promotions almost every week. And remember, this only applies to $200 Visa gift cards. With the new limit of 5, it is easier to make larger purchases at the same store. Some locations were limiting people to just 1 or 2 cards in the past during these promotions.
Also remember that Chase Ultimate Rewards points can now be redeemed for 1.5 cent on select purchases, if you have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
