Fees

The account needs to be open for at least 90 days and remain open in an eligible account type until payment of bonus, which will occur within 30 days thereafter.

This is a great bonus from Santander and the highest we have seen for a checking account I believe. To get the bonus you need to open an account with the promo code provided in the promotion page, have direct deposits totaling $6,000 or more and balance of $6,500 or more for the first 90 days. The bonus should post 30 days later, so you need to keep the account open for at least 4 months.
You need to open a Santander Select Checking account which comes with a $25 fee. You need total balances of $25,000 in bank deposits to avoid that monthly fee. That means that you must keep the account open at least for 4 months. Still works out to a great bonus even if you pay the fee.
